Training Inclusive Recruitment
The training Inclusive Recruitment is developed for HR and Recruiters, professionals that suffer more from bias than others. In a fun and practical workshop, Esther explains what causes this and how to organise the recruitment and selection processes in a way that bias does not stand a chance. So you can find and recruit the very best for the job.
This training aims to set up the recruitment and promotion processes in a neutral and transparent manner so that the effects of bias are mitigated, thereby increasing equal opportunities. This training facilitates both the discussion and the decisions regarding diversity and inclusion in your teams and organisation.
Every training Inclusive Recruitment has two parts:
1. Understanding unconscious bias in selections
- What is our reason for making recruitment & selection more neutral and transparent? Does everyone benefit from more diversity and inclusion? Brief overview behind the reasons for wanting more diversity and inclusion.
- How do unconscious biases affect the decisions we make in our recruitment processes? In this joyful part, participants undergo small experiments to experience bias in their brain. We use film and exercises. In this part, we also discuss the results of the Direction Mindbugs tests and why bias is such a big problem in the Netherlands – more significant than in many other countries. What is the effect of bias on the acceptance and flow of diversity?
2. Decisions to make regarding the recruitment process for neutral and transparent recruitment and promotion.
- How to prevent bias, and how to judge and decide more objectively? We look at the ten possible Equality by Design measures in the recruitment and selection process. In smaller groups, the participants discuss which actions would be appropriate for their organisation and which they will commit to. We will discuss what is needed to implement the actions during recruitment and selection processes. And we will discuss the role of the guardian of the appointments.
- We share nine easy ways to stimulate inclusion during selection procedures.
- We conclude with a summary of the agreements and the goals to be achieved.
“Esther’s training course at the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience was followed by discussions for a long time. Esther managed to convince even the most rigid of scientists of the importance of inclusive recruiting. We often say to each other now: what would Esther recommend to us? A job well done!”

Of course, every in-house training is tailor-made and adapted to the seniority and knowledge of the target group.
